About us

Founded in 2001, the Center for Phenomenological Research (Creph) is currently affiliated with the "Traverses" research unit. It brings together researchers specializing in phenomenology and aesthetics. The center's core mission is to advance research in these areas while fostering openness to other philosophical traditions and academic disciplines. Creph supports this mission through the organization of internationally-oriented scholarly events, the supervision of doctoral ( PhD candidates, including in aesthetics) and postdoctoral research, the hosting of visiting scholars, and the coordination of collaborative research projects.

The center hosts a dedicated research group in aesthetics, as well as a specialized team focused on Brentano studies (BReT). Since 2005, it has also published the open-access e-journal Bulletin d'analyse phénoménologique.
